Veteran’s Day

Happy Veteran’s Day to all of you brave men and women in our fighting forces, past and present. No amount of nudity or typed words can ever express the thankfulness and appreciation that our family feels for those of you putting your lives on the line every day to ensure our freedoms. It’s a heroic sacrifice that seems to be more under appreciated every day.

This year it hit me more than most, even before the tragedy at Fort Hood. I’m tired of the “GIANT Veteran’s Day Sale!” ads. How does having a sale say thank you to someone for their duty to country? If you’re so thankful, maybe you could start giving stuff to veterans, say mental health care, who really need it. I grew up as a child of the 70’s and remember the Vets who came back mentally scarred. I’m seeing that all over again now. The key word is GIVE, as in free. After all, they’ve put their lives on the line so you can hawk your goods. It’s time to repay them in kind. That means YOU U. S. Government, especially those of you in Congress who are so eager to send our young men and women off to fight.

So,

THANK YOU

VETERANS.

The M-D household wishes each and every one of you in the armed forces a safe Veteran’s Day. God bless you and God bless the USA.
